A Pipe Fitter is responsible for the installation, assembly, fabrication, and maintenance of piping systems used for water, steam, oil, gas, or other fluids in industrial, construction, or marine environments. The role involves interpreting blueprints, preparing materials, and ensuring precise alignment and fitting of pipes and components.
Read and interpret technical drawings, isometric diagrams, and pipe layout plans.
Measure, cut, thread, bend, and assemble pipes using various tools and machinery.
Install piping systems in accordance with engineering specifications and safety standards.
Prepare and fit pipe sections for welding or mechanical connections.
Test completed systems for leaks and functionality.
Collaborate with welders, engineers, and supervisors to ensure project accuracy.
Maintain tools and ensure a clean, safe working environment.
Proven experience as a Pipe Fitter or Pipe Fabricator.
Knowledge of industrial or marine piping systems and materials.
Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
Manual dexterity, precision, and problem-solving skills.
Understanding of safety standards related to pressurized systems.
Certification or experience in welding is an advantage.
